One of the top three enterprise marketing cloud platforms globally, competing directly with Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Oracle Marketing Cloud
Adobe Marketing Cloud was Adobe's flagship integrated marketing technology platform, launched around 2012 as a consolidation of several acquired and developed marketing tools under a single brand umbrella. It brought together capabilities spanning web analytics, campaign management, social marketing, advertising, content management, and audience targeting — positioning Adobe as a direct competitor to Salesforce, Oracle, and IBM in the enterprise marketing cloud space. The platform was built significantly through strategic acquisitions, including Omniture (analytics), Efficient Frontier (advertising), and Day Software (content management), among others. In 2017, Adobe rebranded Adobe Marketing Cloud as part of a broader consolidation into Adobe Experience Cloud, which also incorporated Adobe Creative Cloud and Adobe Document Cloud capabilities relevant to customer experience. The Experience Cloud brand better reflected Adobe's expanded vision of end-to-end customer experience management, moving beyond pure marketing automation into a comprehensive suite covering commerce, data intelligence, and content delivery. Adobe Experience Cloud today remains one of the leading enterprise marketing and experience platforms globally, competing at the highest tier of the market. The transition to Adobe Experience Cloud marked a strategic evolution rather than a discontinuation — the underlying products such as Adobe Analytics, Adobe Target, Adobe Campaign, Adobe Audience Manager, and Adobe Experience Manager continued to operate and evolve under the new brand. Adobe Experience Cloud is now a core revenue driver for Adobe Inc., serving thousands of enterprise customers worldwide and deeply embedded in the digital marketing infrastructure of major global brands.
