Largest radio broadcasting company in the United States with dominant reach in both broadcast and digital audio advertising
iHeartMedia is a US audio media company operating one of the largest broadcast radio footprints in the country alongside the iHeartRadio streaming platform and a substantial podcast network. Its advertising business spans broadcast, digital audio and podcast inventory, with programmatic access via partners and its own targeting and measurement products.
The company was known as Clear Channel Communications until it was renamed iHeartMedia in 2014. It held an approximately 89% stake in the outdoor advertising business Clear Channel Outdoor Holdings until 1 May 2019, when — on emerging from Chapter 11 restructuring — the two fully separated into independent publicly-traded companies. iHeartMedia trades on Nasdaq and has no parent company; Clear Channel Outdoor is a former subsidiary, not an owner.
