About

Self-serve retargeting platform positioned as an accessible, affordable option for SMBs and small agencies seeking cross-channel retargeting without enterprise-level complexity or budget requirements.

Perfect Audience was a self-serve retargeting platform founded to make display and social media retargeting accessible to small and medium-sized businesses. The platform allowed advertisers to track website visitors via a pixel tag and then serve targeted display ads across the web, on Facebook, and through Twitter, helping SMBs recapture potential customers who had previously visited their sites without converting. Its straightforward interface and relatively low minimum spend requirements distinguished it from enterprise-focused retargeting solutions of the era. The company changed hands several times over its lifetime. Marin Software acquired Perfect Audience to broaden its cross-channel advertising management capabilities, but ultimately divested it in November 2019 when SharpSpring — a marketing automation and CRM platform — purchased the product to expand its advertising offerings for agencies and SMBs. SharpSpring was subsequently acquired by Constant Contact, bringing Perfect Audience under that brand's umbrella as part of a broader lead-generation and marketing suite. Despite its integration into the Constant Contact ecosystem, Perfect Audience did not survive as a long-term product line. Constant Contact formally decommissioned the platform on August 15, 2024, ending the service entirely. At its peak, Perfect Audience represented an important democratization of retargeting technology, giving smaller advertisers access to tools that had previously been the domain of large agencies and enterprise marketers.
