About
Was a leading programmatic media consultancy and Google Marketing Platform reseller/partner before being absorbed into Monks (formerly Media.Monks) under S4 Capital
MightyHive was founded in 2012 in San Francisco as a programmatic media and advanced data services company, specializing in helping brands and agencies navigate the complexities of programmatic advertising, data strategy, and marketing technology implementation. The company built a strong reputation as a Google Marketing Platform and Google Cloud partner, offering managed services, training, and consulting across demand-side platforms, data management platforms, and analytics solutions. Its client roster spanned major global brands seeking to bring programmatic capabilities in-house or optimize their existing martech stacks. In December 2018, MightyHive was acquired by S4 Capital — the new-era digital advertising holding company founded by Sir Martin Sorrell following his departure from WPP — in a deal valued at approximately $150 million. MightyHive became the second foundational pillar of S4 Capital alongside content production powerhouse MediaMonks, with the two businesses forming the core of Sorrell's data-and-content growth strategy. The combined entity positioned itself as a pure-play digital services challenger to legacy holding companies. In August 2021, S4 Capital merged MightyHive and MediaMonks into a single unified brand called Media.Monks, dissolving the MightyHive name as a distinct operating brand. Media.Monks was subsequently rebranded again to simply Monks in July 2024. The capabilities and talent that MightyHive brought — programmatic media, data engineering, marketing analytics, and cloud-based data services — live on within Monks, which continues to operate as a global digital services network.
