About
NBC News is the news division of Comcast's NBCUniversal; its outlets include the NBC News NOW streaming channel. In October 2025, MSNBC stopped relying on NBC News correspondents and crews, moved to its own newsgathering operation, and then rebranded as MS NOW. Comcast completed the spin-off of its cable networks into Versant in early January 2026; MS NOW and CNBC went to Versant, while NBC News stayed with NBCUniversal. On October 15, 2025, NBC News cut about 150 jobs ahead of the split, because it would no longer provide newsgathering for MSNBC and CNBC.
