CTV and streaming advertising had a strong week on multiple fronts. Viant Technology's $40M acquisition of TVision Insights is the most concrete signal yet that attention measurement — TVision's core competency — is graduating from a nice-to-have to a must-have in CTV buying. TVision's panel-based attention data has been used by buyers to validate whether ads are actually seen in living room environments, and Viant's move to own that capability outright suggests the company is betting that measurement differentiation will be a key competitive axis in CTV for the next several years.

Complementing the deal news, Coactive AI's Cody Coleman made the case this week that AI can unlock streaming's 'untapped advertising goldmine' — pointing to the vast volume of unmonetized or under-monetized streaming content that AI-powered contextual tools could activate for advertisers. Separately, a new study highlighted that VoD ads deliver measurable short-term sales impact, providing the kind of lower-funnel validation that has historically been harder to demonstrate for streaming formats. Taken together, these developments suggest CTV is entering a more mature, performance-accountable phase.
