Versant Chief Says Firm Won't Snare Skydance Linear TV Portfolio

Mark Lazarus, chief executive of Versant, has denied speculation that his firm would be taking over the linear television portfolio of Skydance, Cord Cutters News reports. Speaking at the Axios Media Trends Live conference, Lazarus said large-scale purchases of cable networks are not part of the NBCUniversal spinoff’s current plans. Versant controls networks including MS NOW, CNBC, USA Network, Syfy, Golf Channel, E! and Oxygen.
