A Brief -- And Incomplete -- History Of Comic Cons

I just attended the New York Comic Con, along with roughly 250,000 other folks from all over the world. At last year's convention, I had the photo taken with Krysten Ritter (aka Jessica Jones). So I thought this week's edition would be a good time to write about how these types of gatherings have grown from their humble beginnings to the large-scale, multi-media, multi-genre, mega events they are today. Hint: Comic cons are much more than just San Diego and New York.
