Was a top-tier mobile ad mediation platform before shutdown, competing with Google AdMob and ironSource
Twitter MoPub was a leading mobile-first monetization platform that enabled app developers and publishers to maximize their advertising revenue through a comprehensive mediation solution. The platform provided real-time bidding, mediation, and ad serving capabilities, allowing publishers to manage multiple ad networks and demand sources through a single SDK integration. MoPub supported various ad formats including banner, interstitial, native, and rewarded video ads, and was particularly strong in the mobile app ecosystem. Acquired by Twitter in 2013 for approximately $350 million, MoPub became Twitter's primary mobile advertising exchange and monetization solution. The platform competed directly with Google AdMob and other mobile ad networks, serving thousands of mobile apps and facilitating billions of ad impressions. However, in January 2021, Twitter announced the shutdown of MoPub, with the platform officially ceasing operations in March 2022. Twitter sold MoPub's assets to AppLovin for approximately $1.05 billion in October 2021, marking the end of MoPub as an independent platform.
